2009 - Connecticut funeral home buys two competitors

Hartford, Connecticut - Phil and Jessica Pietras, owner's of two funeral homes in Connecticut, purchased the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home and Tolland Memorial Funeral Homes in Vernon and Tolland, Connectitut this week.
The Pietras and their employees will serve approximately 300 annually from their combined funeral home locations. All of the employees are expected to remain in their current positions and the former owner, John Fortin, will assist with a transition of the operations. The businesses are expected to realize several synergies from the combination that should both reduce expenses and improve services provided to families.
NewBridge Group represented the Pietras family in the purchase and also provided financing for the purchase.
