CHESTER, SOUTH CAROLINA - The Barron Funeral Home and Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home were acquired by Rollings Funeral Service on in July, 2005. The Barron Funeral Home, originally founded in the late 1800's, is located in Chester, South Carolina. The Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, founded in 1966 by James Baker, is located in Great Falls, South Carolina. The businesses serve approximately 250 families annually.

James Baker, the former owner of both businesses, will continue as the lead funeral director and manager. James and Barbara Baker sold the businesses to Rollings so they could realize some of the value that they've built in the businesses over the past 40 years and so they could begin a gradual retirement. Mr. Baker commented, "Barbara and I interviewed several possible buyers and chose Rollings because of his focus on continuing to serve the families of Chester and Great Falls. We have so many great relationships in this area that we knew that we needed a successor who would encourage us to continue to provide the best quality service possible. In Greg Rollings, we believe we have found that person."

Rollings Funeral Service, owns and operates 14 funeral home and cemetery locations and serves more than 1,500 families annually.

The NewBridge Group assisted in the owner of the funeral home in finding a buyer to his business that would pay a fair price with a favorable tax structure.    Vineyard Financing participated in the lending to purchase the funeral home.
