ROME, GEORIGIA - Jennings Funeral Homes, one of Georgia's largest funeral home operations, became family owned again in April when it was purchased by Greg and Debbie Rollings, founders of Rollings Funeral Service, Inc.  The businesses were sold by Service Corporation International as part of an agreement with the Federal Trade Commission related to SCI's purchase of the Alderwood's Group. 

The Jennings Funeral Home group performs more than 500 funeral services annually out of two locations in Rome, Georgia and one location in Cartersville, Georgia.     Former owner, Parnick Jennings, Jr., the incoming Chamber of Commerce President, gave his full blessing and is continuing in his current role with the businesses.   "I'm as excited as I could be", Mr. Jennings commented, "Before Greg purchased the businesses, he and I met several times to discuss our views of funeral service.    He and I agree entirely that our sole responsibility as funeral directors is to go above and beyond for the families we serve.   As part of a publicly owned company sometimes its hard to get approval to do the little things for families that really make a difference.   As of today, we're able to do that again and I'm elated." 

Greg Rollings added "Debbie and I are excited about being a part of the Jennings Funeral Homes.   The business and Mr. Jennings have great reputations throughout the Southeast United States and obviously we're extremely excited to be part of that.    The entire staff will stay with the business and will continue in their current roles. 

Kenny Miller and Ray Miles, the funeral homes' managers, have both continued in their current roles.  Mr. Miller added "We're anxious to try some new service ideas that were difficult to implement while being part of a large corporation.   This sale is going to be great for all of the staff and definitely great for the families that we serve." Greg Rollings, through his subsidiaries, owns and operates 20 funeral home and cemetery locations and serves approximately 3,000 families annually.
