Louisiana Funeral Homes purchased by John Yopp
Leesville & DeRidder, LA – Hixson Funeral Home was purchased on August 28, 2017 by John Yopp. The firm now operates under the DeRidder Funeral Home and Leesville Funeral Home names. The firm were purchased from Service Corp International. Mr. Yopp stated that, “We look forward to bringing back the great service the communities of Leesville and DeRidder deserve.” Mr. Yopp added “NewBridge helped us get a great financing structure and their industry knowledge has been a tremendous asset as I went through the acquisition process.”

Mr. Yopp has a strong family tradition in the funeral industry as the owner and publisher of the Southern Funeral Director Magazine which was founded by his grandfather in 1919. The magazine has been in print for 98 consecutive years and is still one of the most followed and respected magazines in the industry.
